Event Series: Kirtan with Hanu

Kirtan with Hanu

July 2 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Come gather in singing sacred names and shared devotion. Kīrtan is a joyful, heart opening call and response chanting practice that uplifts the spirit, invites connection within ourselves, with each other and with the divine. All voices welcome, exactly as you are, no experience needed.

Hanu offers a special sort of kirtan practice. Sometimes he’ll lead a traditional Kirtan song in call-and-echo style, but other times he will start a chant or mantra and keep singing with the invitation that once you’ve picked up on the words and melody, you begin to sing along – this builds into a beautiful force of love and oneness between all of of us.

Hanu also shares heart songs; these are songs that inspire and connect us to the divine within and around us. The floor is always open for someone to share a heart song of their own.

No musical talent required to attend! Kirtan is not about how beautifully you can sing to the divine, but instead, how much you can open your heart to the love of the universe. It’s a form of prayer. If you need to cry, scream, dance, laugh, all of it is part of the spiritual journey back home.

Join Hanu and discover the joy and healing that awakens when we sing together, remembering that our own voices are medicine, and that devotion can be both powerful and tender.

$20 value, $15 access rate, $25 supporter. Email henryhobbsinspace@gmail.com to reserve your spot!
